St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) members met with Secretary-General of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Jorien Wuite at the Government Building on Wednesday to discuss the request for SCDF to run the daily management of the Festival Village for Government, among other points of discussion. Minister of Culture Silveria Jacobs is presently off-island on vacation and the meeting centred on getting Government more involved in the process of building Carnival. SCDF President Alston Lourens said the meeting was fruitful and looks forward to more meetings of this nature with Government.
