Supermarket owner robbed outside his establishment

The supermarket owner was robbed between the backdoor of his business and where his vehicle was parked.

ST. EUSTATIUS--Two assailants robbed the owner of a supermarket in Golden Rock in St. Eustatius Friday around 7:30pm. The assailants were able to escape with the day’s revenues, Caribbean Netherlands Police Force KPCN reported Monday.

Police responded immediately and started to investigate. Witnesses were able to provide the identity of one of the assailants.

Police also conducted a search of the area and several items were confiscated linking more suspects to the robbery.

Four suspects with initials W.A.J. (18), L.A.B. (20), O.F.S. (19) and M.H.H. (18) were arrested in the investigation. As the investigation is ongoing the Police did not provide more details.

The supermarket in question has been the target of robbery four times in the past, but this is the first time that the owner has been targeted personally.
