PHILIPSBURG--Rio Productions’ Lighted Parade on Saturday night, which featured soca queen Destra, was incident-free.

Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said in a press release on Sunday that the parade had been “a success.”

“The parade was well attended by revellers and by onlookers. During the parade, there were no incidents which caused any disruption. The parade began on time and ended on time,” Henson said.

The parade featured hours of non-stop partying along the streets of Philipsburg. Also performing during the event were local artistes King Kembe, King James and King Rumer, along with Cut Creator DJ Outkast.

The St. Maarten Police Force thanked and commended the community for their conduct during this event and congratulated organisers for “a job well done.”
