Statia singer fine after crash

St. Eustatius-born singer Shirma Rouse was involved in a one-sided traffic accident in Koog aan de Zaan, north of Amsterdam, on Friday afternoon. The popular singer in the Netherlands hit a tree while driving, the Noordhollands Dagblad newspaper reported. The 37-year-old singer was not hurt. The cause of the accident is not yet known. Rouse’s car was severely damaged and had to be taken away by a tow truck. Rouse hitched a ride with the police. She told TV show Shownieuws she is doing fine. “This can happen. I am fine,” the singer said.
