St. Eustatius is mourning the loss of Violet “Vi” Schrewhardt (64), who was a civil servant for more than three decades. She retired from the public library in 2015. She had resided on St. Maarten where she passed away suddenly on July 16. She is remembered as a very quiet person with a smile for all who came into contact with her. Schrewhardt was a relative of former Acting Governor Julian Woodley and former Commissioner Derrick Simmons. She is to be buried on St. Eustatius on Tuesday, July 24, at Bethel Methodist church at 2:00pm.
