A swarm of bees has made a hive on an abandoned house near Concordia Street in St. Eustatius. Residents are concerned about the location, because children are in the area daily to catch the school bus, to play, or just walking by. They are also worried about animals getting stung. Bees have caused the deaths of household pets and roaming cows in the past, and have caused injury to residents. This is not the first time bees have taken up residence in this area. A beekeeper has been contacted for the new hive. Residents hope action is taken immediately, as the hive is increasing at an alarming rate.
