Staff of House of Assembly saddened at loss of Speaker

 

ANGUILLA--A memo from the House of Assembly staff notes that members are saddened at the passing of former Speaker of the House, Leroy Rogers who was born in 1951 and died on Sunday, October 28.

It notes that Rogers served as Speaker of the Assembly from 1994 to 2005; as second nominated member from 2010 to 2015; and again as Speaker of the Assembly from 2015 until his passing. Rogers also served as a representative of the Caribbean Region on the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association from 2015 until his passing, and previously during his 2000-2005 tenure as Speaker.

“The members and staff of the Anguilla House of Assembly offer our sincerest condolences to his family and loved ones,” the release states.
