St. Martin of Tours Family Fun Day set for Sunday

PHILIPSBURG--The St. Maarten of Tours Catholic Church community will be hosting their annual Family Fun Day and Food Sale for the public on the premises of Risen Christ Community Centre next to Risen Christ Church in South Reward from 11:00am to 4:00pm Sunday.

A variety of delicious food dishes will be on sale for US $10 or $12 for fish, and all sorts of soups as well. Home-made drinks such as ginger beer, sorrel and mauby, and regular drinks will be on sale. For the sweet-tooth and for dessert they offer all kinds of snacks, cakes, tarts and delicious bites.

Attendees can make their choice of food from the various kitchens such as Filipino, Surinamese, Mexican, Venezuelan, Kittitian, Colombian, Haitian, Dominican, Curaçao, Aruban, Santo Domingo and so much more.

Besides food and drinks there will also be a flea market, fine music and other entertainment for the entire family. The children can be kept busy with various activities such as Bouncing Castle, slides and games.

As the annual Family Fun Day’s initial purpose is to bring people together to socialise, the funds raised from this year’s Family Fun Day will go towards assisting with payment of the insurance premiums for the three Catholic churches.
