St. Maarten’s culinary team

St. Maarten’s culinary team returned home on Saturday afternoon after capturing 10 medals at the annual Taste of the Caribbean culinary competition in Florida. The team, captained by iron chef Dino Jagtiani of Temptation restaurant, comprised Chef David Cudicio (Dreams Restaurant, Nettle Bay); Chef Pieter Holstein (The Food Collective Rum and Peas); Pastry Chef Ronald Estephane (Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort, Casino and Spa), Junior Chef Suzirea Adoptie (National Institute for Professional Advancement) and Bartender Paul Peterson (Temptation). This was the island’s return to the competition after a six-year absence. The team was supported under the umbrella of St. Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association (SHTA). (John Halley photo)
