SURFACE WINDS: 
Today through Saturday midday: East to east-southeast with a gentle to moderate breeze of 08 to 16 miles per hour.

SYNOPSIS: 

Available moisture and instability associated with a low level disturbance in the wake of a departed tropical wave will account for cloudy periods and isolated showers during the latter part of the forecast period. Although most of the activity is south of the local region, there remains a chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms over the local region.

Seas will remain near 6 feet for the next several days.

STATE OF THE SEA: Slight to Moderate       WAVES/SWELLS: 4 to 6 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE:  
At 11am, category 3 Hurricane Matthew is making its way to Florida with maximum sustained winds near 120 mph.

Nicole has weakened rapidly, now a Tropical Storm. Nicole is meandering overr open waters with maximum sustained winds near 70 mph.

The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor these systems. These systems do not pose a threat to St. Maarten.
