The “Irma Dump” was on fire again. The Fire Department and Ministry of Infrastructure VROMI were at the site from Tuesday evening battling the blaze.
Prime Minister Leona Romeo-Marlin said on Wednesday that government “will continue to monitor the effects of the smoke and a decision will have to be taken whether or not an evacuation of the area will be necessary as we did during the last flare up.” In the interim, people in the immediate area are asked to keep their windows and doors closed and stay out of the smoke as much as possible.
