Slight collision on apron cancels Air France flight

MARIGOT--Air France flight AF 498, due to depart from Roissy airport in Paris bound for St. Martin on Wednesday, October 31, had to be cancelled after it was lightly touched by a Delta Airlines plane while both were maneuvering on the tarmac.

According to Le Parisiene, the Air France plane was pushing back from the gate to head out to the runway when the Delta Airlines plane passed behind it and its wing touched the tail of the Air France plane.

The Air France plane returned to the gate and all passengers had to disembark while checks for damage were carried out on the tail section. A flight was scheduled for the following day for those passengers.

There were no injuries in the incident and Bureau d’Enquêtes et d’Analyses (BEA) has opened an investigation.
