SIMPSON BAY--The Simpson Bay bridge will now open only twice per day as of today, Friday.

  The Simpson Bay Lagoon Authority (SLAC) decided to temporarily reduce the bridge’s opening times after reviewing boat traffic as a result of the current national emergency related to coronavirus COVID-19.

  The bridge will open every day at 9:00am and at 2:00pm for inbound and outbound traffic.

  The causeway bridge opening will be synchronised based on the Simpson Bay bridge openings, said SLAC. “This will be coordinated with mariners by calling the [very high frequency – Ed.] VHF-12 channel
