Shareholder passes resolution appointing new GEBE Board

PHILIPSBURG--Government, as the shareholder of utilities company GEBE, passed a resolution on Tuesday appointing seven new members of the company’s board.

The resolution was passed during a Council of Ministers meeting, Minister of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI Angel Meyers told The Daily Herald late yesterday. Due to information communication technology (ICT) issues yesterday, Government was unable to do the necessary printing of things related to the resolution passed. This will be done as soon as the ICT issues are rectified.

The shareholder dismissed the former board of the water and light company during a meeting last week Thursday and appointed William Brooks as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) during a separate general shareholder’s meeting on the same day.

The seven new members appointed to the board are Roy Marlin, Romeo Pantophlet, Oral Gibbes, Tazio Bervoets, Sandy Offringa, Agnes Monte and Patrice Gumbs.
