The highly anticipated sequel, “The Wonderful Counsellor Part 2”, premiered on Sunday, May 17, to an impressive turnout of more than 250 persons at Caribbean Cinemas. Due to the overwhelming support and excitement surrounding the film, the premiere was showcased across two screens, creating an unforgettable evening for moviegoers and supporters of local cinema.

The film, which continues the captivating story introduced in the first instalment, had audiences eagerly awaiting the second chapter. Featuring an all-star cast of local talent including Edsel Monzon, Jenise Diaz, Rita Gumbs, King Vers, Rene Violenus, and many more outstanding performers, the production once again highlighted the incredible creative talent present within the region.

Director Peter Sagnia shared his excitement following the premiere:

“We are truly amazed by the turnout for Part 2 and very happy to see the smiling faces leaving the theatre. It is also rewarding to see our local actors receive the recognition they truly deserve.”

Among the special guests in attendance were Prime Minister Dr. Luc Mercelina and President of Parliament Sarah Wescot-Williams, both of whom joined supporters and fans for the premiere night celebration. During the evening, Prime Minister Mercelina also presented each actor with a special gift in recognition of their outstanding on-screen performances and contributions to local filmmaking.

Following the screening, cast members spent time taking photos with fans, family, and friends who came out to support the film. The evening served as more than just a movie premiere – it was a celebration of community, culture, and the importance of giving local actors the spotlight they deserve on the big screen.

This year also marks an exciting milestone for the production, as “The Wonderful Counsellor Part 2” is set to premiere in Curaçao, St. Kitts and the US Virgin Islands, further expanding regional recognition for local filmmaking and Caribbean talent.

For those who missed the premiere, there is still an opportunity to experience “The Wonderful Counsellor Part 2” in theatres. Screenings will take place on weekends only – Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays – beginning May 22, with the final screening scheduled for June 7.
