The Government of Aruba proclaimed a national day of mourning for the death of alleged abuse victims five-year-old Rishandro and three-year-old Eugene, after the body of the youngest brother who had disappeared was found. The day will be observed when the funeral of the two siblings takes place. While Rishandro died in the hospital with severe new and old injuries that pointed to extreme domestic violence, Eugene went missing until his stepfather, who was arrested along with the mother and grandmother for the older boy’s suspect death, finally talked. He confessed his involvement in the death of both and revealed where Eugene had been buried in the Savaneta area. Family and friends are now working on a double funeral and a collection to pay for it had up to Wednesday morning raised 7,513 Aruban florins.
