PHILIPSBURG--The St. Maarten Science Fair Foundation shared that after a break following hurricane Irma and the pandemic, the annual Science Fair for secondary schools is set to resume.

The three-day event which ends with a prize and awards ceremony is scheduled for March 30, 31 and April 1.

“To date, six schools have confirmed their participation in this year’s event. The MPC TKL, MPC PKL, MPC HAVO/VWO, MAC High school, Sundial and Learning Unlimited,” the foundation’s president Dr. Rolinda Carter said in a press release on Wednesday.

Schools that have not yet registered can do so up to Friday, January 27.

Dr. Carter said the Science fair offers students the opportunity to develop their analytical skills and display their research findings by using the scientific method. The Science fair is open to students between the ages of 12 to 18 who are attending a local secondary school. Schools may register their students as individuals or as a team of two.

The Science Fair is made possible through the support of volunteers and the kind funding from local businesses.
