STATIA--Saskia Brown reaped the benefits of studying hard and being diligent with her school work when she was named valedictorian of Gwendolyn van Putten School based on her test scores. She and her fellow students received their results on Wednesday.
A motorcade wound its way through the island’s streets in celebration with the successful students.
Five HAVO students and four of the VMBO-B class all passed their exams. Of the 10 who were in VMBO-K, four students passed, four have to re-sit, and two failed.
In VMBO-T, 13 students were successful with their exams, seven students are to re-sit, and two students failed.
