Road closures due to annual NAGICO to NAGICO cycle races Fri. to Sun.

PHILIPSBURG--In connection with the annual NAGICO to NAGICO (N2N) cycling races set to take place today, Friday, through Sunday, the police have announced road closures,

  The first race, a “time trial,” will be held on the causeway in Simpson Bay. The causeway bridge will be closed to all traffic in either direction from 6:00pm to 10:00pm or for the duration of the race. Persons coming from Marigot wanting to go to the Simpson Bay, airport and Maho areas will have to go through Sandy Ground or Cole Bay using Union Road. 

  The second race, on Saturday, will start on the French side and will be coming to the Dutch side at approximately 9:00am via the Oyster Pond border, Oyster Pond Road, Bishop Hill Road, Tata the Bus Driver roundabout and the French border.

  The final race will be held on Sunday starting at the NAGICO main office on Cannegieter Street at 8:30am and heading to the Salt Pickers roundabout, Walter Nisbeth Road, Prins Bernhard Bridge, Bush Road, Church Hill roundabout, A.J.C. Brouwer Road, Kruythoff roundabout, Union Road, Bellevue border, then through the French side on to the Lowlands border, Cupecoy, Mullet Bay, Airport Boulevard, causeway bridge and Bellevue Border.

  Police officers and volunteers will be regulating and directing traffic during these races. All drivers are requested to follow the police officers’ and volunteers’ instructions and give necessary cooperation to make sure that races take place without any unnecessary incidents.

  All drivers also are advised to take very good notice of this information to avoid any delays or other unnecessary inconvenience.
