ANGUILLA--The Anguilla National Trust is inviting the public to participate in Earth Hour on Saturday, March 19.
Individuals, businesses, governments and communities are being invited to turn off their lights for one hour at 8:30pm to show their support for environmental sustainable action.
The Anguilla National Trust is also inviting its members to celebrate Earth Hour with a moonlight-under-the-stars cook-out at Crocus Bay, starting at 8:00pm.
Earth Hour is an annual global environmental initiative that was developed and facilitated by the World Wildlife Fund. It began in one city in 2007 and by 2015 it has grown to become the world’s largest grassroots environmental movement.
It has involved hundreds of millions of people in 172 countries across the planet and on every continent. Over the last 10 years, the World Wildlife Fund, the Earth Hour team, and people from around the world have harnessed the power of the movement to raise support and funds for access to renewable energy; the protection of wildlife and habitats; the building of sustainable livelihoods and for the driving of climate-friendly legislation and policy.
