Road becomes river

Tropical Storm Dorian made its presence felt on Saba Wednesday, as torrential downpours resulted in rock falls and flash flooding.

The government of Saba closed the Fort Bay road and harbour area as rocks being washed down the hillside made the area unsafe. A cargo boat was forced to suspend offloading its cargo due to the inclement weather and the gas station located at the harbour shut its doors for the day. Winair also cancelled its afternoon flights to Saba and Antigua A day-care centre in the Bottom was flooded and will be closed today, Thursday, for clean-up.
