SYNOPSIS:
Low-level moisture and weak instability associated with surface trough approaching the local region, will cause some isolated showers with a low chance of isolated thunderstorms tonight. Otherwise, a weakened Atlantic high pressure system will maintain mostly light to gentle winds.
Seas are expected to remain slight through the next few days.

SPECIAL FEATURE: At 1100 am, the center of catastrophic (Cat. 4) Hurricane Dorian was still causing cataclysmic conditions as it slowly moves across the northwestern Bahamas. Dorian poses no threat to St. Maarten.
Shower and thunderstorm activity associated with a low pressure system located about 2265 miles east-southeast of St Maarten continues to show signs of organization. A tropical depression is expected to form during the next day or so while the system moves generally northwestward across the eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible over the Cabo Verde Islands
today.
