This afternoon through Thursday midday: Partly cloudy to cloudy and breezy with a few isolated showers.

 SURFACE WINDS: 
This afternoon through Thursday midday: Easterly with a moderate to fresh breeze of 14 to 22 mph and higher gusts.

SYNOPSIS:  

The atmosphere across the local area is drying out as the tropical wave continues to exit the region. However, pockets of moisture embedded in the Trade winds coupled with an upper level low pressure system will cause isolated showers during this forecast period.

A small craft advisory is in effect for St. Maarten due to above normal seas and gusty winds. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution. 

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to rough           WAVES/SWELLS: 7 to 9 feet
