SYNOPSIS:
A moist and unstable atmosphere across the region will continue to cause cloudy periods, showers and possible isolated thunderstorms during this forecast period. Residents and users of areas prone to flooding are advised to be vigilant due to already saturated soils.
Moderate seas are expected during the next few days. By Monday into Tuesday, some deterioration will take place with seas expected to peak at 8 feet. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.
STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 7 feet
SPECIAL FEATURE: Satellite data indicate that a tropical wave located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles is gradually becoming better defined and continues to produce strong gusty winds mainly to the east of the disturbance. Although no significant development of this system is expected during the next day or two, conditions are forecast to become a little more conducive by Tuesday after it has passed St Maarten. Regardless of development this system will bring increased chances of showers and thunderstorms activity to the region.
The Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the progress of this system.
