WEATHER:  

This afternoon: Partly cloudy and breezy, becoming cloudy at times with isolated showers.

Tonight through Saturday midday: Generally cloudy and breezy with scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

SURFACE WINDS: 
This afternoon through Saturday midday: East-northeasterly with a gentle to fresh breeze of 12 mph to 21 mph.


SYNOPSIS:  

Moisture and instability associated with a frontal boundary will cause showers, some of which may be heavy and possible thunderstorms across the region. Residents and users of areas prone to flooding are advised to be vigilant. Meanwhile, the strengthened Atlantic high-pressure system will maintain mostly moderate east northeasterly winds.

Seas are expected to peak near 8 feet before subsiding on Sunday evening. A small craft advisory has been issued for St. Maarten due to above normal seas. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.   

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to rough         WAVES/SWELLS: 7 to 8 feet
