SYNOPSIS:
A moisture surge associated with an approaching tropical wave will cause cloudy periods and isolated showers during this forecast period. In addition, the Atlantic high pressure system will maintain light to moderate winds.
Seas are forecast to remain slight to moderate during the next few days.

SPECIAL FEATURE:
At 5:00 am, the center of Tropical Storm Florence was located near latitude 16.5 north, longitude 31.4 west or about 2084 miles east of St. Maarten. Florence is moving toward the west northwest near 15 mph with maximum sustained winds near 60 mph and higher gusts. Slow strengthening is possible today and tomorrow.
The system does not currently pose a threat to St. Maarten.
The St. Maarten Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the progress of this system.
