Sunset Today: 6:20 P.M. Sunrise Tomorrow: 6:27 A.M.
SURFACE WINDS:
This afternoon through Wednesday midday: North to northeast with a light to moderate breeze of 05 to 14 miles per hour.
SYNOPSIS:
A slightly less intense low-pressure system well north of the region is generating a northwesterly wind flow, long period swells, and above-normal wave action resulting in hazardous seas across the region. Additionally, due to a drier, stable atmosphere after the passage of a frontal boundary, local shower activity will be restricted.
Hazardous sea conditions will persist through Thursday as long period northwest to northerly swells continue to affect the region. Thought slightly weaker, the low-pressure system will continue to generate seas up to 13 feet across the Atlantic waters. Seas are forecast to remain above 10 feet at least until Thursday; consequently, a small craft warning is in effect until then. Small craft operators and sea bathers are urged to stay on shore.
STATE OF THE SEA: Rough to Very Rough WAVES/SWELLS: 8 to 13 feet
SPECIAL FEATURE: None.
OUTLOOK through Thursday midday: Fair to partly cloudy with no significant precipitation.
