This afternoon through Wednesday midday: Generally fair to partly cloudy with brief showers, particularly during the overnight to early morning hours.

SURFACE WINDS:        
This afternoon through Wednesday midday: Northeasterly to east northeasterly with a light to gentle breeze of 04 to 09 mph, becoming lighter and variable at times. 

SYNOPSIS:   
A dry and stable atmosphere will influence generally fair conditions. Meanwhile, a slack pressure gradient will account for lighter winds. 

Long period swells generated by major hurricane Larry is generating hazardous sea conditions. High surf and small craft advisories will remain in effect for St. Maarten until mid-week. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise extreme caution.     

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to Rough      WAVES/SWELLS: 6 to 9 feet      

SPECIAL FEATURES:    

At 11:00 pm, hurricane Larry continued along a northwest path, further away from St. Maarten.  

Hurricane Larry does not pose a direct threat to St. Maarten.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor this system and update the public accordingly.    

OUTLOOK through Thursday midday: Fair to partly cloudy with a brief local shower possible.
