Protecting the youth

The St. Maarten Lions Club, St. Maarten Alpha Leo Club and St. Maarten South Omega Leo Club partnered with the TelEm Group of Companies and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) on Sunday, April 28, to distribute earplugs and sunshade glasses to the children during the Children’s Carnival Parade.

More than 2,000 sunshade glasses and 600 earplugs were distributed along the parade route by Lions and Leo Club members. “Seeing the smiles on many of the kids’ faces was a priceless moment,” Club Presidents Lion Carmen Lake-Reyes, Leo Sasha Buncamper and Leo Aziza Baly-Vanterpool said in thanking the business community and the general public for their support.
