MARIGOT--In connection with the unlimited Post Office strike in St. Martin called by the union SUD PTT GWA, The Direction Regionale de La Pôste in Guadeloupe informs the population it has taken measures to ensure election propaganda material is distributed and that voter cards can be collected.
The strike comes just four days before the Territorial Council Election on Sunday.
Voter cards will be available to the population from the District Councils from Wednesday, March 15, from 9:00am to 5:00pm to Friday, and on Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
The cards can be collected on presentation of an ID card. Locations to collect voter cards are as follows: District One (Maison de Quartier d’Orléans); District 2 (former school in Grand Case); District three (former voting bureau in Friar’s Bay); District four (former Evelina Halley school in Marigot); District Five (former Evelina Halley school); and District Six (former kindergarten in Sandy Ground).
La Pôste said in the release it was doing everything possible to ensure satisfaction of its clients and apologised for the inconvenience.
