Nature Foundation has placed absorbent booms and pads at the diesel spill location in the Cole Bay section of Simpson Bay Lagoon.
The foundation has been dealing with the spill for more than two days now. After investigating with Maritime Affairs Department and Economic Affairs Department inspectors, they found that the fuel had originated from a business burglarised early Sunday. Thieves stole containers filled with fuel and then broke these open, leaving the contents to leak into the environment.
