Police asking public for info on three robberies

PHILIPSBURG--The Police Force’s Special Robbery Unit is calling on the public for information on three robberies that occurred in recent months.  

The first robbery occurred on March 20, on the road leading to Red Pond in the Dawn Beach area. During that incident, two men driving a car were blocked off and robbed of the daily earning of a chain restaurant in the country.

The second robbery occurred on June 6, at Jump Up Casino in Philipsburg. The casino’s management, in collaboration with the Police Department, have made available a reward of US $10,000 for any information that can lead to the arrest and conviction of the culprits involved in this incident.

The third robbery occurred on July 23, when a front desk manager was robbed of her car on Rhine Road in Mullet Bay. The perpetrators took off with the victim’s vehicle in the direction of the border in Lowlands.

Police Spokesperson Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said in a press release that persons with information pertaining to these robberies are kindly asked to call tel. 556-7498 or the anonymous tip line number 9300. Persons are urged to call these numbers weekdays between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00pm.
