Police arrest JetBlue bomb threat culprit

AIRPORT--The person believed to be responsible for last week Saturday’s bomb threat scare, who reported false information that an explosive device was on board JetBlue flight B677 originating out of Boston to St. Maarten, was arrested by police on Thursday afternoon.

The suspect K.J.C. (27) was arrested without incident and taken to the Philipsburg police station, where he remains in custody for further investigation, according to police. After an in-depth investigation, detectives managed to pinpoint the location of the man who made the call.

The police management team congratulated the investigating team for a swift and in--depth investigation that led to the quick identification and arrest of this suspect. “It is because of their dedication and professionalism this has been solved. The investigation continues,” police management said in a press release on Thursday.
