Philipsburg Library closed for inventory

PHILIPSBURG--Philipsburg Jubilee Library will be closed on Monday, July 30, on Monday, August 6, and on Monday, August 13, to continue salvaging materials before the peak of the hurricane season and in preparation for  a possible transfer from its current building to a temporary location at one of Super Plaza department store’s warehouses.

  The Library cannot withstand another hit from a passing hurricane and under current conditions rainfall and humidity are  causing the further deterioration of materials.

  Therefore, the inventory work is scheduled and may continue, to store all materials as much as possible within limited time, as the hurricane season has commenced.

  The Library apologises for the inconvenience this may cause to its loyal patrons. Clients who have to return items scheduled for both days will be compensated as the system is programmed to automatically renew their materials.

  However, the Library will continue its services during regular opening hours Tuesday through Saturday.

  Customers have access to a limited range of library materials, such as the children’s collection, a small selection of adult fiction and non-fiction, and DVDs. The Internet Café, photocopying and lounge area, and an improvised study area in the garden tent are also
