One of the storm water pumps connected to Great Salt Pond has been repaired by the Ministry of Environment and Infrastructure VROMI. The pump is online for about eight hours every evening from 6:00pm to drop the pond’s water level. The water level is “extremely high and we need to drop it,” Claudius Buncamper of the ministry told “The Daily Herald”. The water pumped out via Rolandus Canal into Great Bay is “quite clear.”  Great Bay has good circulation, which allows sea-bathers to still use beach. The only discharge of the pond water is in the vicinity of Bobby’s Marina. (John Halley photo)
