Members of Parliament (MPs) and the Secretariat staff of Parliament rolled up their sleeves and took time out to serve members of the public a festive Christmas lunch outside the House of Parliament on Monday. The Christmas lunch was packed in biodegradable food containers and served with wooden cutlery, as this year Parliament’s theme is “It’s Sweet to Recycle”.
Parliament intends to continue these efforts by introducing more sustainable products in the near future. The public was invited for lunch in front of the Parliament building from 11:30am to 1:30pm. MPs were able to interact with the public during the event, which also featured festive music.
