PHILIPSBURG--Caretaker Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Ardwell Irion visited Dr. Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. School on Monday to ensure the replacement of the tarpaulin on the roof as he had promised the week prior.

On his arrival the workers were busy clearing out the old tarp, Irion said in a press release on Monday. The minister was pleased to see that work had ensued.

He spoke to a few parents as well, who aired their grievances concerning the matter, the release said. School Principal Hubert Duffis was pleased to speak to the contractors for an update on the work.

Irion will continue to work with the Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI and all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the reconstruction of the roof goes smoothly and is completed as quickly as possible, according to the release.
