POND ISLAND--The Ministry of Environment and Infrastructure VROMI has opened a public tender for bids for the security of the Philipsburg dump and the VROMI equipment yard on Pond Island.
The tender outline is available via government’s website as of today, Thursday. Hard copies are available via the Department of Infrastructure Management. Deadline for all bids is 10:00am September 13.
VROMI Minister Miklos Giterson told the press on Wednesday that an information session for potential bidders will be held in the Government Administration Building at 10:00am August 30.
Security lapses at the dump are one of the reasons cited for numerous fires at the site believed to be man-made.
