ANGUILLA--A brand new Spartan Commercial Pumper truck arrived at the Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport Combined Services Building on April 24. Deputy Governor Perin Bradley and Anguilla Programme Manager Darren Forbes-Batey visited the brand new truck at the Fire Hall when it arrived.
Chief Fire Officer Shondell Hodge said, “The truck is a significant and necessary addition to the Anguilla Fire and Rescue Service and will serve as our primary domestic [non-airport – Ed.] fire-fighting apparatus.” This is the third fire truck received through the UK grant following Hurricane Irma.
Minister of Infrastructure Curtis Richardson has named the three fire trucks. When the second one, a Rosenbauer Panther tender, arrived he said he had named the first truck Love, and then the second one he named Peace. The newly arrived truck is named Joy. “We cannot take Anguilla forward into the 21st century in terms of aviation without these new assets. I am glad that the governor and the British government have given us the full support to move Anguilla forward.”
