New deputy in town

The Gendarmerie has announced the appointment of Lieutenant Arnaud Gerard (left) second in command and assistant to Lt. Colonel Sebastien Manzoni (right). Lieutenant Gerard’s posting is for three years.

He took up his duties on April 1. Originally from Lorraine, the 35-year-old previously commanded the brigade La Tremblade-Royan in the Charente-Maritime since 2014. He joined the Gendarmerie in 2002 as a non-commissioned officer and served at the end of his MANS training at EGM 16/7 BACCARAT from 2003 to 2008. Taking the judicial police officer's examination, he then joined the Orly Air Transport Gendarmerie until 2012, when he entered the National Gendarmerie Officer’s School. His hobbies are flying planes and running.
