Mullet Bay dispute

Daleo’s Snack Bar on Mullet Bay Beach Resort is not back to its former glory.

page6e184It now comprises of only several tables with no overhead covering. Attempts by David and Leopold York to rebuild their hurricane-damaged structure on the beach was met with opposition from the property owner Mullet Bay Beach Resort. This rebuilt structure ad foundation were recently bulldozed by the resort. The land on which the beach bar has stood for more than two decades belongs to the resort as the property line, based on the Casdastre certificate, ends at the water’s edge. The Yorks, who hold a vending permit, argue that the all beaches are public and they have a right to their structure. The matter is expected to head to court.
