MPs and SMIA to talk insurance payout today

PHILIPSBURG--The Finance Committee of Parliament meets with St. Maarten Insurance Association (SMIA) today, Thursday, about the process of payments to policy holders affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. The public session in Parliament House starts at 3:00pm.

The parliamentary session will be also be live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 120, Pearl Radio FM 98.1, www.pearlfmradio.sx and www.sxmparliament.org, and Facebook.com/Parliament of St. Maarten.
The Central Committee of Parliament did not meet on Wednesday on the National Ordinance dealing with Administrative Jurisdiction and an advice containing proposal to retract five initiative national ordinances from Members of the Parliament of the former Netherlands Antilles. This was due to the overrun of the sitting about the dump fires.
The session was postponed until further notice.
