Missing mom and daughter found in South Reward home

SOUTH REWARD-- Marie Hamlet and her three-year-old daughter were spotted staying in a home in South Reward on Saturday morning. The woman and child were reported missing from St. Martin on Thursday, December 14.

The Police Force of St. Maarten and Gendarmerie officers cooperated by going to the home in South Reward and they managed to speak to Hamlet.
“Based on information which came into the Police Information Unit, an investigation started and officers spotted where Hamlet and her daughter stayed. The investigating team from the Gendarmes accompanied the detectives to the residence in question,” stated police on Saturday.
“Marie Hamlet and her child were found at that residence and were both in good health. After a brief interview with Marie Hamlet she decided to freely return to the French side with her child after which she, her child and the Gendarmes were escorted safely to the border,” police reported.
Her reason for disappearing was not provided by police.
