Meyers released from pre-trial detention

PHILIPSBURG--The Joint Court of Justice has suspended the pre-trial detention of suspects in the Pompei investigation brothel owner Etienne “Tochi” Meyers and D.F. based on their personal grounds, according to Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Gino Bernadina.

They remain suspects in the ongoing investigation and must stay available for the investigators. The two suspects in the case had appealed an earlier decision from the Judge of Instruction, who agreed with the prosecution to extend their pre-trial detention to 60 days. Meyers recently changed his defence attorney and launched his appeal with new representation.
