“Those who frequent Front Street and have been customers over the years are quite familiar with Marilyn's smiling face and friendly greeting upon entering the store,” the Cannegie Liquor Store said in a press release.

Duporte not only functioned as a cashier over the years, but also as a salesperson. She said she knows enough about liquor that she could open her own liquor store.

Management and staff of Cannegie Liquor Store held a farewell party for Duporte on Friday. Owner and Manager Diederick Cannegieter presented Duporte with a certificate of appreciation and thanked her for her many years of service.
