About 100 relatives of and sympathisers with the late Mitch Henriquez held a peaceful demonstration in The Hague against police violence which led to the 42-year-old Aruban man’s death while visiting the Dutch city in June 2015.
The group walked from Koekamp at Central Station to “Vredespaleis” and back, on the way placing a wreath in memory of the deceased at the main police bureau. A court is to rule on December 21 in the case against two of the five officers involved in forcefully subduing the victim, who claimed having a gun and resisted arrest at a summer music festival.
