PHILIPSBURG--The Electoral Council reminds all eight registered political parties that their annual report for 2015 must be submitted to the Electoral Council before April 1 as stipulated in Article 27 of the National Ordinance on Registration and Finances of Political Parties. This means the final day to submit the annual reports is Thursday, March 31.
The annual report must include: composition of board during 2015, amount of contributing members at the beginning and at the end of 2015, amount of contribution received during 2015, and an overview of activities carried out in 2015.
The 2015 annual report must be accompanied by a financial report as laid down in Article 28 of the National Ordinance. The financial report must at least include: the financial position at the start and end of 2015, a specified statement of income and expenditure, as well as an auditor’s report by a certified accountant regarding the accuracy of the financial report, donations of NAf 5,000 or more from a source other than a natural person and the total amount of donations, other than contributions from party members.
The Electoral Council reminds all parties that failure to comply with the National Ordinance on Registration and Finances of Political Parties could result in a penalty being imposed.
The Electoral Council is in the process of the initial review of the 2015 donations registrations of the political parties.
