Laws on money transaction, CBCS in Parliament today

PHILIPSBURG--Parliament resumes its sessions, today, Monday, after the annual summer recess with a plenary session on the draft national ordinance regulating the Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten (CBCS), and one amending the national ordinance supervision of banking and credit.   Finance Minister Richard Gibson, Sr. will be in the public session set to start at 11:00am in the Parliament House. He will table the amendments for approval by Members of Parliament (MPs).

  The CBCS regulation seeks to amend the national ordinance supervision of banking and credit, the national ordinance monitoring insurance business, the national ordinance monitoring stock exchanges, the national ordinance supervision of investment institutions and administrators, the national ordinance monitoring trust, and the national ordinance insurance broking business (National Ordinance monitoring, updating and harmonizing CBCS).

   The second draft national ordinance up for approval regulates the rules for the supervision of money transaction offices (National Ordinance Monitoring Money Transaction Offices).

  Also to be before MPs for approval are the decision lists of several public meetings for the Parliamentary Year 2016-2017.

  The parliamentary session will be live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 120, Pearl Radio FM 98.1, www.pearlfmradio.sx and www.sxmparliament.org.
