Island Gems Charity Foundation recently supported Manteaux de St. Martin, the French-side-based organisation that provides meals for less fortunate people. The group received US $500 worth of food items. This is not the first time Island Gems has donated to this group and this recent donation was spurred by the continued work of the group in the community. Island Gems Vice-President Karine Fleming commended the volunteers’ work and encouraged others in the community to lend a hand to Manteaux de St. Martin and other non-profit organisations on both sides of the island. This donation was made possible by funds raised by Island Gems at its 2017 costume gala dinner. No gala will be held this year. Plans are in progress for a bigger event in 2019.
