High Surf Advisory in effect for St. Maarten

AIRPORT--A high surf advisory is in effect for today, Wednesday. A small craft advisory is in effect until at least Saturday.

Sea bathers and small craft operators are strongly advised to exercise caution, said the Meteorological Department. Seas are expected to deteriorate today largely due to strong winds and to a lesser extent Northwesterly swells.

The strengthening Atlantic high-pressure ridge will generate a brisk wind field over the next few days. Pockets of low-level moisture drifting in the wind flow will result in cloudy periods and brief but frequent isolated showers.
